Homeless Does Not Equal Hopeless
Today we have our first ever guest post, except it's not really a guest post as Krystle the author is now very much part of the Rich and Happy project.
Since she wrote it things have taken a turn for the worse for homeless people here in Orlando. The local government are currently trying to make it illegal for charitable groups to feed the homeless in Lake Eola Park.
Would You Shoo Away a Duck?
So there I am at Disney’s Epcot Center. My daughter and I decided to take a little break and enjoy a snack at the Morocco pavilion. After dropping what used to be a full day’s wages on falafel and a kid’s snack, we were sitting outside at one of the little patio tables.
Music was playing, people were smiling and wandering around. It was very festive.
Never, Never, Never Give Up!
I was reminded of the Winston Churchill quote “Never, never, never give up” last week as we seemed to be taking two steps forward and one step back in our quest to giveaway 1,000,000 copies of How To Be Rich and Happy.
Over the last week or so we have had the following setbacks occur:
It’s Not The Economy, Stupid
It’s been an interesting week signing hundreds of copies of How To Be Rich and Happy and then shipping them all over the world. I've probably seen enough customs declarations forms to last me a life time, but I am still incredibly grateful to all of you that have helped us kick things off in fine style. Your help has guaranteed that we'll have enough money to reorder the next batch of books to giveaway, so a huge thanks.
As this is a charitable project we’ve had to do everything ourselves on a shoe string. Consequently the past few days have been somewhat crazy making sure the right books went into the right envelopes and the correct forms were assigned to each.
Nobody Is Motivated By Money
I’m sure you know by now that the How To Be Rich and Happy pre-sale is well under way. The 750 signed first edition copies are up for sale and a lot have already been snapped up. If you haven’t got yours, what are you waiting for?
A couple of people have asked what we can do for people that already bought the ebook and would also like the physical version. That’s a fair question and I’m more than happy if that’s you and you buy a hard copy too, to then send you an additional copy free of charge.
And The Winner Is…
When I announced my offer of free life coaching, I knew I was in danger of getting overwhelmed with responses. A year or two ago I did something similar on my own blog and got almost 50 people asking me to work with them.
Not as many people read the How To Be Rich and Happy blog (yet), but I had mentioned it on my own blog. So I understood there was a risk of being inundated and spending hours upon hours sifting through e-mails.
Free Life Coaching – A Decision
Many years ago I was working for Yellow Pages. I was in a printers chatting with the owner when a well dressed guy came in to collect some printing he’d had done. I saw he’d hopped out of a car that was probably worth more than my house and it was obvious he had money, a lot of money
When the owner went into the back to get his posters I started talking to him and asked him where he worked. To cut a long story, he owned one of the largest stationary supplies business’s in the country that was based close by.

There’s a book called ‘Nothing Down’ written in the 1980‘s by Robert Allen. I confess I’ve not read the book, (John rates it very highly) although I’m aware of the story. Allen put his reputation on the line by taking a challenge from a journalist who said he couldn’t go to San Francisco and buy a house within 72 hours with zero money down. It was an extremely close call, but Allen managed to pull it off.
Allen went on to take on another even greater challenge. This time he was tasked with teaching somebody else to do exactly the same thing as he had done.
The Rich and Happy Giveaway Is Lift Off!
If I had any hair I may well have pulled it all out this morning. However, after some technical difficulties our web guy has done us proud and we're finally good to go with the 1,000,000 Giveaway. As of now, because I have made the final affiliate payments, 90% of the proceeds or every sale will be going directly to print the physical versions of How To Be Rich and Happy.
At this stage (and it could well change as we move forward) we have targeted 4 separate groups of people to give the free books to, high school/university age kids, single parent families, unemployed people and homeless people.
7 Reasons Dogs Are Rich and Happy
I was having a conversation with John Strelecky the other day about dogs and in particular, rich and happy dogs. We were thinking ‘How To Be Rich and Happy’ could have been written by one of my dogs quite easily, presuming of course they had bark recognition software for the transcribing process.
Now before you rush to call the men in white coats and tell them to have their very best long sleeved jacket at the ready, let me explain what I mean and offer you 7 reasons that will prove most dogs are indeed rich and happy.
