Tim,

As usual, you are both witty and wise. This was a great way to convey some solid tenets for living a rich and happy life. This made me smile and made my day a bit brighter. Thank you and be well.

@ Carl - Spare time, what spare time? Anyway, I'm a dog shouter.

@ Donna- Actually one of our dogs prefers running water. Mind you, the other one will often walk past her own bowl to get to the toilet bowl for a hearty drink!

@ Ernst, Heidi & LeAnn - Thanks for dropping by!

@ Helen - Precisely x

Er, have you actually met our dogs?????
I've just had to give up my little 2 seater convertable that I loved to get a bigger car for them to ride around in!
They didn't worry when we ran out of dog food, because they klnew 'Dad' would give them whatever was in the fridge or cupboard, which turned out to be a large tin of red salmon.
They don't try to keep up witht he Jones's because they know they can outrun them, and have a nap while they wait for them to catch up!!
However, you are partly right 'they don't feel guilty', or at least one of them doesn't!!
But I totally agree, Our Girls are truly Rich and Happy, and make our lives Rich and Happy too.

Thanks for setting me straight...I have an adorable 13 (almost 14) year old cocker spaniiel, Zoe-Sophia. She is high-high maintenance, grooming etc., and more, much more, she prefers drinking fresh flowing water (bowls are only for real dogs), following my every footstep, getting stepped on repeatedly, giving me those mellow big brown sad eyes when she knows it will work, sleeping tight up against me, crying for hours if ever left alone - which never happens any more, she goes to doggie day care when a life event requires me to leave her for a few hours. She's always happy, nearby and with the same child-like excitement day in and day out. It's just I that needs a personality fix. Thank you!
