As you may very well know one of the biggest issues we’ve had with the project to give away 1,000,000 copies of How To Be Rich and Happy has been getting charities to accept that what we’re doing is genuine and not some cunning plan to defraud then.
This has been very frustrating at times as door after door has been metaphorically slammed in our faces, and I’d be lying if I didn’t confess to wondering whether we had bitten off more than we could chew on a few occasions.

Finally, finally, finally, we have placed the order for the 2nd print run of How To Be Rich and Happy and we have 6,000 books being printed as we speak. The book will fundamentally be the same although we have added the story of the amazing Rich and Happy Warren Macdonald, and cleaned up some of the typos.
So sadly, every edition of the book from now on will have the correct anti-value of ‘Immorality’ listed and not ‘Immortality’ as rather amusingly appeared in the first edition.

It was about this time last year that John and I sat down to discuss our plans for How To Be Rich and Happy. I’m sure you know the story by now. After an hours back and forth we started to realize our goal to sell 1,000,000 copies of the book was shallow and poorly thought out.
With it, we weren’t employing our own Rich and Happy formula because we had missed the second ‘R’ out of SMARTER goals and that is, the REWARD.

You may have noticed from the counter in the right hand sidebar that we finally made the $100,000 barrier of copies of How To Be Rich and Happy given away to good causes. It has been a struggle at times and not all plain sailing as the last post explained, but we made it with a couple of weeks to spare.
Although the main goal is to giveaway 1,000,000 copies of the book, the sub-goal for this year was to get to the $100k mark and use that to generate some publicity and as a launch pad into 2011. So thanks for helping us make it happen, now if you just have a spare million bucks lying around that can speed things up a bit, that would be nice.

As Thanksgiving and the Holiday Season in general approaches John and I thought it would be a fitting time to reflect on the How To Be Rich and Happy project to giveaway 1,000,000 copies of the book to great causes.
Currently we have distributed over $80,000 worth of free books and whereas that’s great, it’s not great enough if we want to hit our goal before we retire.

Every person that has ever walked on this planet has been criticized at some stage. In fact most ‘ordinary’ people will be criticized hundreds, or more likely, thousands of times during their life time. It gets even worse if you join the ranks of the visibly super-successful, then there will even be people waiting to criticize you that have never even met you.
The difference between Rich and Happy people and those stuck in the poor and miserable mindset can often be seen through their attitude toward criticism.

Until about 5 minutes ago I was feeling somewhat stressed. Why would a Life Coach that understands stress is fear, and who possesses 101 different techniques for dealing with it, be stressing you may be wondering.
The reason is, we post once per week on the How To Be Rich and Happy blog, and the only time I have to write something this week, without neglecting my clients, is now.

I wasn’t feeling very Rich and Happy. In fact I was feeling pretty damn poor and miserable if truth be told.
My wife’s car had been making a strange rattling noise for a few weeks and we’d held off taking it in until it needed a service. It didn’t seem that serious so why make the trek across town twice in the space of a couple of months?

How To Be Rich and Happy – The Audio Version
Unfortunately it looks like we wont be offering an audio version of the book, at least in the short-term. The response was disappointing with only about a dozen or so people saying they would definitely buy it and a lot more saying they either definitely wouldn’t or weren’t sure..
